All manner of thing shall be well

The surgeon called earlier this evening to assure me that the procedure had gone as planned. My mother has a long recovery ahead of her, but right now, all is well. Thank you all for your prayers and messages. We feel them.

My spiritual director just told me about a woman she knows who recently had the same surgery, putting rods and screws in place, and who has no pain at now. At age 80!

It helps immeasurably to know that. I think I can sleep tonight.
